Hi Guys,Regarding Kits - Has anyone seen or had any experience with the Tri-Track Chassis Kit?(to be honest, I'm torn between buying the Traxster Kit or the Tri-Track)! Hard to decide. It has 'proper' rubber "tank tracks" and is quite a mean looking Chassis. Little bit bigger and heavier than the Traxster. But looks solid and a decent Chassis to build upon?Thankyou in advance,Cheers, Dan.
We'll I'm not going to tell you that a competitor's product is better than ours. :)
The Tri-Tracks are definitely nice. I contemplated using those tracks for the Traxster, but it didn't work out for a number of reasons. I guess it depends on what you're looking to do w/ your robot. Do you want it to travel outdoors? Indoors? The Traxster was designed to be an indoor robot, meant for classroom and lab development purposes.
The Traxster isn't as large as the Tri-Track, but it is $35 cheaper, AND it includes quadrature wheel encoders with the motors.
Both products are great products...It really comes down to your budget and what capabilities you're looking for. :)
Best Regards,
Hi Jason,Many thanks for your prompt reply! Sorry for asking about a "competitor" product, however thinking about it you are hardly going to praise a product that you dont actually have dealings with.I initially understood that this Forum was an 'open' forum on all Robot Hardware, but am understanding it only caters for the products that you provide as a company.I will agree the Traxster has to be one of the coolest Kits that I have come across, and to be honest, is at the heart of my (soon to be) Robot Project !Also for the majority of Robot products that most use indoors anyway (be it at home, classroom etc), the Traxster really is a nice package.Again cheers Jason, much appreciated.
