We'll be glad to help you if you have any specific questions.

The XBee-Pro module at the link is the correct one.

Re: Communication with Serializer via XBee(TM)/XBee-PRO(TM) serial interface

You mean to say, we need to have two XBee-Pro device (1 is for robot, and 1 to Laptop) ?.

Does it won't work for Laptops WIFI wireless connection ??

Please can you give any document/pic/link which describes connection with XBee-Pro with our Serializer. this would help me a lot.

Thanks,

Umesh

Re: Communication with Serializer via XBee(TM)/XBee-PRO(TM) serial interface

Xbee works much like bluetooth. you need 1 at the pC end and 1 at the robot end. A lot of computers have Bluetooth built in already so you don't even think about it. I used the Maxstream Xbee module with my laptop and a traxster. What I did was plug the Xbee into the computer, it comes up and looks like a serial port. The tricky part is that the Xbee modules are preset to a certain baud rate. I don't remember what it is, but lets say for this conversation it is 9600. so you have 2 choices, either configure the Serializer to talk at 9600, or configure the xbee to talk at 19200. I chose to change the Xbee so I downloaded an application from maxstream that allowed me to change the baud rate of the Xbee. Then I swapped it out for the other one and changed it as well. Now I had 2 Xbees both set for 19200. after that you just connect 1 to the pc, plug 1 into the Serializer, and you are ready to go. It will work just like Bluetooth, or a serial cable, etc.

Hope this helps,

Ringo

Re: Communication with Serializer via XBee(TM)/XBee-PRO(TM) serial interface

 Thanks for Reply,

As I heard XBee device from MaxStream transmits signals in the form of Radio waves.

If am not wrong, some where it was mentioned that it will talk to wifi devices. Since wifi also transmits signals in the form of Radio waves.

If it is not, Is there any way to make communication with Xbee to wifi?

Thanks,

Umesh.
