.NET lib - need to restart PC
Hi,

Does anybody know why I need to restart my PC before I can run my application with serializer.NETlib a second time? There's no error. The servo simply takes no commands anymore. After restart, all works fine again. What have I forgotten?

Thanks,

Ted

Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC

Ted,

Hmm.  That's very odd behavior.

Are you communicating via Bluetooth, or direct connection via USB or RS-232?

Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC
Hi Jason,

Had a great vacation?

I'm using Blue Tooth indeed. I've got no RS232 port on my laptop. And USB, doesn't fit in the Traxter case.

I used the example (Blink Led) in de documentation and added a Servo and 3 IR. There's no StopCommunication or Shutdown. I added a button to explicitly Shutdown. The beheaviour is the same. Do you have a clue?

Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC

Hey Ted,

Yes, I had a great vacation, and was able to rest up. :)

Have you attempted to connect/deconnect to the Serializer over Bluetooth via Hyperterm?  Can you connect, run some commands, disconnect, and then reconnect okay?  If so, then I would say your problem lies in your application, and I would ask that you post it for us to look at.   If you see the same behavior via Hyperterm, then I would say that the problem lies in your Bluetooth radio on your PC/Laptop (quite possibly in your installed Bluetooth Stack).   If this is the case, I'll need to pull in Bryan Hall from A7Engineering to help debug the problem.

So, try that out, and let me know what you find.

Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC

Ted,

Make sure you're calling serializer.Shutdown() before exiting your application.  It sounds like you might be from the post above, but I just wanted to make sure you were specifically calling it.

I have also contacted Bryan Hall at A7Engineering.com, who might be able to help too.
