Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC

Also, is there a Bluetooth Manager icon in your system tray?  You should see a Bluetooth symbol in your system tray, and when connected, the white 'B' (Bluetooth symbol) should turn green.  Then, when you disconnect, it should turn back white.   Are you seeing this behavior?

Also, could you please respond to my question above about being able to connect/disconnect via Hyperterm okay?

Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC
I call .Shutdown() in de Form_Closed event. I added that, after I noticed the problems. I didn't help.

Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC
Hi,

I've no problems when using Hyperterminal. Even if the Serializer lib doesn't function anymore.

Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC
The is a Blue Tooth Managar. It turn Green at start all by itself. I thought the start delay might be the problem, so I started the connection manually. Unfortunately, it didn't make a difference. After Shutdown() de B turns white again, all by itself.

But I went a little further investigating.

In Hyperterm, the first "fw" command mostly returns NACK. Maybe SerializerLib has a problem with that.

I programmed using the SerialPort class instead of the SerializerLib. I got strange results when using CRLF instead of CR (as documented). Maybe there is some point in SerializerLib where CRLF is used. When using CR after command in the SerialPort command, there's no problem communication at all. I can start and stop as often as I want, without problems.

Another possibility is a locale problem. In Europe we use . where you use , and vice versa. I noticed that SerializerLib doesn't start at all when set to Metrics.

Is the above helpful?

Re: .NET lib - need to restart PC

Ted,

Actually, yes, that information is very helpful.  It definitely sounds like a bug in the Serializer Lib... I'll try to recreate it this afternoon.

A local problem (with hardware) crossed my mind, but I didn't want to go there until we had exhausted all other options. :)

As far as getting a NACK when you first send a 'fw' command, there might be junk being prepended to the command string when you first a command, and my guess is that the Serializer firmware is complaining about it.

I'll be in touch this afternoon.

Thanks!
