Re: New Traxster Robot Motors

Jay,

Thank you for the kinds words.

I'm glad you brought the loose motor wiring to our attention, as those motors are packaged in bubble wrap, and we'd have to unwrap them to check the leads.  We have assumed that our motor manufacturer ensures that the wiring is correct before they ship them to us.  I have contacted our motor manufacturer, and they have assured me that there won't be any more problems w/ the loose wires, and they're actually replacing the bad motors.  Out of the last batch of 300 motors, we've had seven w/ loose/faulty wires.  Those stats aren't too bad. :) These motors are actually very well built motors (otherwise we wouldn't use them in our products), it just that someone got a little sloppy soldering the last batch.

We've got 500 more motors coming in 2 weeks, so I'm expecting there to be Zero problems w/ the wiring going forward. :)

Glad to be of service!

Re: New Traxster Robot Motors

Jay,

Also, it's been a while since I tested the current draw, but I don't remember them drawing that much current unloaded.

I'll test ten different motors tonight, and post the average results on the motor page. :)

Best Regards!

Re: New Traxster Robot Motors
Jason, I repaired the original motors and retested them last night. You are correct .4A at no load and barely .65A with me trying to grab the output shaft. Hmmm, need to retest the motors the students have and reconfirm the numbers.
