Servo Control
Are there any plans for enhancing the servo command interface of the Serializer to something similar to what is provided by the SSC-32 controller?

Servo Move or Group Move:
# <ch> P <pw> S <spd>... # <ch> P <pw> S <spd> T <time><cr>
<ch> =Channel number in decimal, 0 - 31.
<pw> =Pulse width in microseconds, 500 - 2500.
<spd> =Movement speed in uS per second for one channel. (Optional)
<time> =Time in mS for the entire move, affects all channels, 65535 max. (Optional)
<cr> =Carriage return character, ASCII 13. (Required to initiate action)
<esc> =Cancel the current command, ASCII 27.
Servo Move Example: "#5 P1600 S750 <cr>"

In addition to these commands they also have the ability to query the pulse width which would allow PID control with a servo.

Thanks,
Bob

Re: Servo Control

Bob,

We aren't going to be enhancing the Serializer servo functionality, but we are close to launching a new product called the "ServoWizard", which will feature 25 servo channel control (speed, and distance), via an I2C interface.  Thus, you will be able to plug it into the Serializer, and use the Generic I2C interface to use it.

It will be similar to the SSC-32, but since it's I2C, the interface will be a little different. :)  You will have the fine PW granularity of 1msec though, and you will also be able to time the move for each channel.

We have the ServoWizard boards in stock, but we have to finish the firmware.  We keep getting interrupted by order fulfillment, so it's hard to get back to the fun stuff! :) LoL

We're hoping to get the ServoWizard launched in a few weeks, but I do have some pressing jobs to finish that have a higher priority.  So, it may be right before Christmas before they're available.

Best Regards!
