Nonetheless, it still shows customers how an overall Navigation app would at least start off. :) There's a lot more sophistication and intelligence that can be added (which is what we want customers to have fun doing!).

Best Regards!

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Hey Lawrence!

Yes, you will be able to purchase the "Sensor Platform" plate at the end of the month. I only have two prototypes in my hands at the moment, but the rest will be here in a few weeks. :)

I will post the navigation video tonight to that link...didn't have time to post-edit the raw video. :)

Thank you for the compliments! Sean seems to like the library too, and the kit is debuting at the Embedded Systems Conference this week! Hopefully the .NET Micro framework team will like it too. :)

I'll ping you when the "Sensor Platform" plates arrive. Let me know if you see anything else that needs fixing! (by the way, I still have quite a bit of updates to make to the Traxster MF kit page...what you see now is all I had time to do. :)).

Best Regards!

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Hi Jason:

In the user documenation when I click on Traxster navigation video I don't get Camtasia loading a video,

I get taken back to your website. The Line Following Video loads fine.

Is the new top plate and servo hardware available separately?

I will want to upgrade to you current configuration.

Otherwise documetation, samples etc. look great!

You did this kit start to finish in record time!

Lawrence

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Lawrence,

That's a new Sharp GP2Y0A700K0F IR Distance sensor (measures 1m to 5.5m). It'll be on the site in about a week. I'm teetering on purchasing a crimper to crimp the tiny conductors for the cables for the connector, or letting customers do that. The crimper is almost $400, so I'm not sure I can justify it. Of course, it will be a pain to have customers crimp them...I guess I'll get our cable manufacturer to quote them as well. :) If they have a good price, then there will probably be a 4 week lead time. So, to begin with, customers migh have to crimp/solder the conductors/pins onto the wires, then insert them into the connector.

I have 250 of the sensors in stock, along w/ the connectors, and conductors...I have to put them on the site, and get the girls to package them.

Best Regards!

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Hi Jason:

Nice pictures!

What is the sensor on the front of the Robot.

Not the Sharp IR sensor, but the black one

with a rectangular base with a couple of round protrusion.

Is this a sonar sensor?

Do you offer it on your site yet?

Thanks,

Lawrence

Traxstser II with EDK Plus

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Lawrence,

You should find this useful...:)

http://www.roboticsconnection.com/userForums/Topic156-6-1.aspx

Best Regards!

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Lawrence,
I bolted the EDKPlus iPac board to my dev Traxster II this weekend, and was able to get a sample app up and working very quickly.

I also started writing a Serializer MF library to work with it. I'll try to get that finished and posted next weekend, as I'm trying to the the latest release of the Serializer .NET lib finished and launched. :)

I really like this EDKPlus board...It uses the same bolt pattern as the Serializer, so it bolts right to the top of the Traxster II (and Stinger). Also, you can utilize our 5V switching voltage regulator to power it (which also bolts to the Traxster II (and Stinger).

Best Regards!

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Lawrence,

Acutally, I have both. I've had the EDK for a while, but haven't found the time to get going on it, and Sean just sent me an EDK plus (we swapped products) :). I'm pretty sure he's using the EDK plus with his Traxster.

I think I would opt for the EDKplus, so that you don't have to continually connect/disconnect serial ports. :)

Best Regards!

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Hi Jason:

There is an EDK for $165 and an EDKPlus for $225.

One of the differences is the second serial port.

The first serial port is for programming and the second for the application to use like the Serializer.

Are you working with one of the EDKPlus boards?

Thanks,

Lawrence

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Please note that I have moved this under the "RoboticsConnection Software Support >> Serializer .NET Library" forum, since it's specific to the Serializer .NET Library itself. :)

Best Regards!

RE: The Serializer .NET library and .NET Micro Framework?

Hmm. We have a few here that we'll be playing w/ soon.
