Patrick,

It's taking me longer than I had hoped to generate the proper function to represent the output of the new Sharp GP...700K ir sensor. So I'm going to put it into the next release of the .NET lib so I can get the latest version out! :)

It should be available later tonight...

Patrick,

Good news! I've finished the PIDMotorController class updates and have tested it! :cool:

There is a pretty cool new Sharp IR Sensor, the GP2Y0A700K, that measures a range from 1m (40") to 5.5m (~220"). This picks up where the more common Sharp GP2D12 sensors fall off (~31.5"). I'd like to add functionality to the .NET lib for this sensor before I launch it. I also need to generate new .NET Lib Documentation (which takes time). So, I'm thinking I'm still on for a Thursday release.

I have gotten back on the .NET Library, but it's going a bit slow...It may be Thursday before I'm finsihed.

Hey, I don't want your robot to suffer any longer! :)

Now that the website update is out of the way, I can get back to product development. :cool: I know many of you have been waiting on a Serializer .NET lib update, so that's what I'm going to give you! :)

I'll get the updated library launched by Sunday night (2/24/08), or sooner!

I do appreciate your patience! Part of the delay, by the way has been due to several factors...

The WERoC (Windows Embedded Robotic Challenge) took up almost ALL of my development time over the past 3 months
We just added a new baby girl to our family

Hi guys,

Congrats on your new forums and website--very nice! In the meantime, my poor robot is really beginning to suffer from the still-existing bug in the .NET libraries regarding PID motion control. (The one where a minus sign gets dropped or added so that a left rotation command actually rotates the robot to the right, or a forward command actually makes the robot go backward...) You mentioned back on Jan 16 that you hoped to have an update available within three weeks--do you have a new ETA? I'm really start to depend on your most excellent Serializer and so would appreciate the bug fix.
