I would like to use RFID to manage my home book library but with RedBee it is impractical. I need tag reading range at least 1 meter to comfortably read tags from books at bookshelf. Does some reader like that exist on hobby market? I found some very expensive readers dedicated for business applications but nothing like RedBee or even something like "Home Book Library Development Kit". Could you recommend something?
Thank you.

Did you find something on this? If yes then I am interested in knowing about it. Can you please share that with us?

RFID is in use all around us. If you have ever chipped your pet with an ID tag, used EZPass through a toll booth, or paid for gas using SpeedPass, you've used RFID. In addition, RFID is increasingly used with biometric technologies for security.

Most of the RFID Readers available can only communicated with RFID tags within 2 - 5 inches. I don't think normal tags have any option for range enhancement.

hi. read range mainly depends on two things, tags and reader. UHF is great and no problme at all with 1meter reading. HF is much shorter reading but stable at short range. if you are using HF tag, suggest you use a high power reader plus handheld out-built antenna.
maopu technology limited, focus on high performance handheld rfid reader, rfid uhf reader, rfid tag and rfid reader.
