Can someone point me to the datasheet/docs for the Hamamatsu P5587 Encoder Module? I just bought two sets, and the package says "Pinout can be found online." Where? It doesn't show up under sensors (discontinued? out of stock?). Is there a missing link on the site?

The Hamamatsu P5587 Sensors that we have been using on the encoder boards were discontinued about 3 years ago.  We have been using the sensor inventory which were left over after manufacturing stopped.  That inventory has now been depleted, and thus we had to discontinue the sale of the single and quadrature encoder modules.  Hence the reason you could not find links to the sensors from our website navigation.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but there's not a lot we can do.

We are looking for for replacement sensors, and when we find some, we'll be sure to put them on the site.

I must say that your reply was not what I was expecting.
Perhaps you have misunderstood my problem. The problem was that your website appears to no longer have a link to the pinout for this sensor. Considering that this sensor was sold and is still available from retail outlets with no more documentation than the phrase "Pinout can be found online," for you to respond "...but there's not a lot we can do" leaves me wondering what you could mean. Let me point out the obvious. You can either include links to the documentation of the parts you sell, or put the documentation in the package.

Hi,

I'll be glad to post the pinouts for those encoder modules for you and others on the forums.

I have been very overworked over the past two months, and we just had a baby girl.  So, I have to admit that it was an oversight on my behalf to not leave those products on the site for the inventory left our there. :/ They have now been "nuked", and I won't be spending time recreating those pages.
