Hi

I have a question because heat. For learning C# and wrie programs for the serializer i have connected one Motor, one switch and one Analog Servo.

When I run my Programm and controll the servo on servoPin1  the markes positions on the added pictures get hot. I only must drive the servo 15 seconds.

The Pins on the board are as-delivered conditons. I use a power adapter with 12V, 4A.

Is this normal? The upper position on the pictures is not every time hot. But the Positon down in the picture will be hot when I drive only one Servo.

Hi

For me it is normal because components works and heat.

When you start an car motor it heat!!! it is the same for motors components.

Another things

I thinks theses component are for give you 5v inside you card. and you give it 12V in entry(it is the MAX)

it one issue.

Hi

I don´t think that the components should be cold, but an electric component which you almost can´t touch because it´s hot........

I don´t worry if i drive at same time two 2A motors and six servos, but I controll only one!! And when the components so hot with one servo, how shoud I controll two?

Hi

Theses components might convert you 12V 4A for the cards and 12V is the maximum input value. I think it is why components heats.

the  regulator on the bottom of your picture powers most of the serializer. the one on the top powers  GPIO pins 6-9. If you put your servo on pins 6-9 then you will be using both regulators and that should help. The upper regulator can deliver around 2A's so it depends on what kind of servos you are using.

Getting warm is normal, it should not get hot enough to burn you or anything like that. If you can power everything from a lower voltage like 9.6 it will help as well. Basically the regulator takes your 12V, send 5V to the serializer, and converts the other 7V to heat.

If it is still getting hot you can try adding a heatsink. Places like Radio shack or you local electronics store should have a heatsink with an adhesive backing on it that you can stick on it. Just make sure it does not short anything out. We sell T-wings if you cannot find somehting locally.
