| Hi, I have connected the CMUcam2+ to the traxster CMUcam2+ turret as per the robotics connection documentation. However the documentation does not detail how to connect the CMUcam2+ to the Serializer WL board. Are there instructions available for this? Also, does anyone know if there is a CMUcam2+ .NET service available? Also, is there a download site for the CMUcam2+ drivers? I have checked out the http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~cmucam2/downloads.html site and there is the GUI app, but no details of the drivers or how to manually setup a COM PORT. Thanks for any help you can provide, Greg

| I got the CMUCAM2+ working via a virtual COM PORT. The following web site www.ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp.htm has the executables to create the port. The executable creates the port when you connect your CMUCAM2+ via a usb cable. I powered the camera by using one of the Serializer's GPIO connections. However whats not clear is if you can relay communication with the CMUCAM2+ via the Serializer WL or if the CMUCAM2+ must be directly connected to a computer. Does anyone know the answer to this? Thanks

| Hi GSM, The CMUCam cannot be connected with the serializer only the servomotors can be. But you can use the cmucam as Motherboard and control the serializer (i don't have in mind if you can program the cmucam2+ with the version 3 you can^^nut i don't have time to test serial connexion) Regards Arnaud

| Unfortunately, there is only one serial connection on the Serializer, therefore you cannot communicate w/ the CMUcam2+ through it. We are working on the next iteration of the Serializer (probably ready Q1 2009), which will have an additional serial port(s), which will allow you to communicate w/ the CMUcam2/2+/3, as well as any other serial devices through the Serializer protocol. This will allow you to have one serial connection to many devices. Best Regards!
